Todd and Deb adopted 5 of their children out of foster care and a few of those kids have special needs that require therapies and many doctor visits. For this reason and others, Todd and Deb have both been working mostly out of the home in the past few years. They have many disciples they meet with and help through their lives. Their hearts are great and their wisdom and expeirence are very valuable to our community. Todd enjoys watching football and roasting coffee beans. He is a visionary and activist at heart. Todd is the Bolivar House handyman...we would not be where we are today if it wasn't for Todd Schmeeckles skills.
Deb just started a job outside the home and works for the PEP program. She is a person that provides a listening ear to many people while they are in crisis. She is a person who cares and cares deeply. She takes joy in children and loves with a passion that can wear her out. She is also incredibly thrifty, yet somehow very fashionable, her garage sale shopping skills are unmatched. One of the best things about Deb is, she is perceptive and often ready to apologize if she feels someone might have had their feelings hurt. She is very passionate about helping others, she is a great friend to many in our community.
Both Todd and Deb do ministry with their whole hearts and whole lives. They are on the leadership team at F street church and also have some involvement with Calvary Lutheran Church. Todd is involved in the neighborhood and also has involvement with the Lincoln homeless coalition.
We may add some more information about their children later, once I have permission to do so.
In April the Schmeeckles will celebrate their 7th year at the Bolivar House.
This photo is a bit outdated. But we all thought it was a wonderful example of the Schmeeckle family circus. |
In 2015 the schmeeckle family went to Hawaii, as Abbi's make a wish. |
They had lots of fun in the sun as a family. |
